How do I clean stuffed animals?
I got theese four huge (each about the size of a toddler) stuffed animals (Winne, Tigger, Eeyrore & Piglet) from a trift store and they are in excellent shape. But I wanna clean them before I start hugging them. How do I get other peoples nastiness out of them?

- dry clean them. if you can't afford that, you need to spray them down with a solution of equal parts lysol disenfectant and water and sit them in the sun. then fabreeze and let dry. whatever you do, do NOT pop them in the wash, as they'll never completely dry, due to their size, and could begin to breed spores inside which you/your child will eventually inhale.
- Its easy. My daughter has a big ol care bear like that.....just put it in the washing machine on warm, but don't dry it. Try to let it sit outside to dry. I've been doing this for years and haven't had to deal with any "spores"...
- Oh, I'll bet they're great! Check with your local dry cleaner. Good luck to you.......
- I've always taken stuffed animals and put them in a pillow case to wash. But if they are that big they might not fit in the washer. You may be able to still put them in the case and put in the dryer on a setting for delicates or to just refresh them.
- Vacuum them first to get rid of any dust mites. I collect the extinct wildlife stuffed animals and I use Lysol Antibacterial Fabric Spray to disinfect mine. You can also spot treat any stains with upholstery or carpet cleaners like Folex, Resolve or Method. Just wipe the area with vinegar once you have removed the stain. This neutralizes any detergent residue which attracts dust from the air and makes a mystery stain later.
- I have a huge bear that I spray with lysol spray then put it in the dryer for about 30 minutes. that works for me
- Most plush toys are made with poly-fill, so they're machine washable. When you put them in the dryer, also throw in a new tennis ball or clean shoe. The bouncing of the shoe or ball will keep the fluff even so they won't get lumpy. (Also works great for washing and drying pillows.)
- I wash stuffed toys in the washing machine. Delicate. cold water. and use some Boraxo in with the soap. Dry on low.Bye
- WELL, WHEN MY CHILDREN WHERE LITTLE AND THEY WOULD GET THERE STUFFED TOYS DIRTY.,I WOULD PUT THEM INSIDE A PILLOW CASE AND TIE THE OPEN END OFF WITH A HAIR STRETCHIE. THEN I WOULD WASH THEM IN THE WASHER AND USE A VERY PLEASANT SOFTNER IN RINSE CYCLE AND DRY THEM IN THE DRIER..THEY ALWAYS TURNED OUT VERY NICE..YOUR'S ARE SOME LARGE ONES SO YOU MAY WANT TO TRY VERY LARGE PILLOW CASES OR CONCIDER TAKING THEM TO THE CLEANERS..HOPE THIS HELPS YOU..GOOD LUCK
- Take them to the laundry mat and use the large washing machines. Put 1 animal/washer. Dry in large dryers. Should work. It may also tell you on the labels how to clean them. Good luck.
