Should I wash my dogs plush toys before I give it to them or are they safe? I bought them from the dollar store so no dogs have came in contact with them.

Can anyone recommend an indestructable plush dog toys? My dog Natsha loves plush, squeaky toys, but I have yet to find a toy that could withstand her teeth. She is an older dog, but must have teeth as solid as Stonehenge, because she destroys her toys within 5-10 minutes. She has toys like Kongs and things like that, but she doesn't like them as well as she does the squeaky toys.

Why do female dogs "hump" their dog pillows even when they have been spayed? I have an Akita/Keeshond puppy who has already been spayed. However, she has a plush bone and a huge dog pillow that she consistantly humps. She doesn't try to hump people or other dogs. She only tries humping her pillow mainly but also humps her medium and smaller plush/stuffed animals. I know it is a dominance thing, but she is spayed. Shouldn't that be out of her system by now (she's about 10 months old)?

How long should a dog have a plush toy intact? I love to buy my Ginger (dachsund) a stuffed toy so that we can play catch and tug. But she can destroy a medium sized one in 2 days. Good safe toys to leave in the crate to entertain the dogs while we are not home? Keep in mind they are toy murders and the kongs barely hold up with them....the dogs are a toy poodle and a 20 pound terrier mix....so I'm looking for good entertaining toys they can enjoy for the hour or two they are alone and then also just safe toys in general that they might not destroy... What is the most durable plush type squeaky toy for a small dog? Isis and Echo (Italian Greyhounds) both go straight for the squeaker when they get a new toy... so far the AKC brand toys last about a week before they're gone. Dr. Noy's last about the same, maybe a few days longer... does any company make a really durable plush type squeaky toy? I'd pay top dollar for something that would last even a month... Also, they only like the toys with squeakers inside, for some reason they don't like the nylon type which 'are' the squeaker... Any suggestions? I've tried literally every toy sold at WalMart... those last at most 24 hours... Jaw strength is less of a factor than determination in the case of toy destruction ;-) These toys are for playing, they are not their chew toys... they get greenies, bully sticks, sometimes pig ears, Nylabones... etc... but as far as those go a 12" bully stick lasts 15-20 minutes with them... and the bigger of the two is 12.5lbs... They don't play with their chew sticks, they play with their squeaky toys together though... I know nothing will last forever, but I'm would like something to last more than a week.

My dog chews everything except for a plush toucan, why? My dog chews anything and everything ranging from metal scraps to tire-like material. Any toy we ever buy her, she destroys within 20 minutes. Even the tough ones! However, there is 1 plush toy that she never destroys. Why is that? Often times we can catch her cuddling it on her bed, and gently playing with it. But other plush toys, will meet their demise starting with the eyeballs. What is it about this toucan that is so special to her? I'm not looking for answers like. Is there an indestructable dog toy? My dogs (a beagle and a lab) get a kick out of completely destroying every toy I give them!! My dog has puffiness at the tips of the ears? She is a wolf. sharpai, datchsun, terrier mix and I was wondering is this part of the sharpai or wolf or is it something to worry about. They feel like they are filled with air and it doesn't seem to bother her. Kinda reminds me of a plush dogs ears. Dog toys for dogs who are serious chewers? My Two Boston T.'s cannot have plush toys because they manage to strategically pull the squeaker out of the plush toy. They soon tear the cotton out. They also chew up rubber toys pretty quickly and I'm finding that I am throwing a lot of toys away after a week. Kongs have been good choices and seem to last forever. White Plush Dog With Blue Spots? Beanie Baby? My son had a favorite plush puppy. We traveled to see family and left it at a hotel. I called and they said they never found anything, but we are positive it was left there. Im trying to track down one just like it. It was i believe a beanie baby (or made as a knock off). For those of you that like flat faced dogs/cats, what is the attraction? Beauty is in the eye of the beholer, but we all have our reasoning for thinking something is gorgeous. I'd like to know the reasons behind the attractions to cats and dogs that look like they've run into one too many walls face first. I'm NOT insulting the breeds, but I do wonder, sparked by my friend claiming her dog *that I find absolutely GORGEOUS* is ugly, and that her purebred dog *Lhasa apso, she says, but the dog's appearance says otherwise* course-curly-coated blonde flatfaced dog is prettier than this long legged mutt with a short yet plush *think teddy-bear fur* coat and a nose more than a cm out from her forehead.*these dogs are half siblings, btw* I don't see it and I couldn't get her to tell me why the dog I thought was pretty was bellow the level of this short legged beast with a horrible underbite that makes her look incredibly mean *and yes, she's mean* I'm not saying anyone's wrong, I just don't get the idea of a dog/cat with a lack of face, really. Before any idiot asks why I'd ask this, why do you ask a person with opposite religious beleifs than you why that's what they beleive? Because I WANT to understand every point of veiw that I can, and you can't do that without asking what you need to know. I can relate to the "it's so ugly it's cute" thing. How to make brown plush teddy bear fur white? I have a small plush dog (one of the russ ones) who is a light tan colour. I want to customise him and want to add white parts to him (ie on his face, tummy and legs). He is a felty-type plush, not furry, the label says polyester material and "all-new" material. My partner suggested using bleach on a brush to bleach the colour out and then washing him, but I am not sure if that would turn those parts white or a nasty mess would ensue! It's not going to a child so wouldn't need to be that safe/robust - will be going as a display piece but was wondering if just tippex or white acrylic paint would work/be ok - or if there's something else I can use to achieve the effect? What is the name of a plush dog sold in the 90's? The dog had a plastic handle so that you could push it and was attached to a box w/ wheels and a thing you could insert so that it moved it's head up and down and barked. The dog could be removed from the box (velcro held it on) so you could sleep with it. I believe it also barked. My sister got one for her 4th b-day (1994) and lost it. My beloved dog passed away a few days ago, and once I found a website where they sold beautiful cremains containers in the shape of your dog´s breed and color, it looked just like a normal stuffed dog; all I can find are huggableurns.com but they only have teddy bears and generic dogs (ew). The one I saw looked exactly like my dog, a cream pomeranian. Can someone please help me find that site?

How to get dog urnine smell out of carpet? My dog in the past has urinated in one of our rooms in our house. The carpet is thick and plush. I have tried sprays, powders and baking soda but they only rid the odor for a short time. Is there anything I can try short of calling a professional carpet cleaner that will permently rid of the odor?

Knuckles for dogs? Hi! My puppy chews a lot for a little 10 lb dog and she destroys any plush toys, Nylabones, and Galileo bones! My vet tech had recommended cow or horse knuckles and she said they can chew on them all day long. I was wondering if anyone knows anything about knuckles and if it is ok for pups to continuously chew them. I just bought an knuckle and my pup loves it but I want to make sure it is good for her. Where can I find innovative interactive dog toys for the smart hyperactive dog? Our dog is an australian and half german? (got her from the shelter). She's extremely hyperactive and does chew through the lesser toys. Loves the kongs, ropes, bones, and this super XL plush jack toy. We keep around 10 or so toys out and play with her several times a day, she's goes nuts in a large space full of wild vegetation / hideaways, . but alas, not enough! She still tends to have those tear up the flower bed moments! eek and still loves to bark at the neighbors, who look down on part of our property, their voices perhaps become distracting. Toy suggestions please? Would love to get her a maze she can crawl through or a tetherball stand for dogs? (does this exist), or other unique extremely interactive toys besides the basic ones at your local petsmart.

How do you get dog pee to stop killing the grass? I have 2 dogs, a male and female (both fixed) and I have a nice plush green lawn with several circular dead patches where the pups do their thing. - Is there something I could feed the dogs that will make their pee more grass-friendly? - Is there something I could feed my grass that will make it more dog-resistant? - Other ideas? Carpeting questions: Plush vs. Frieze? I have started to carpet shop, b/c I am finishing my basement. The salesman was really pushing Frieze carpeting, but I was thinking about getting plush.
